Gaining knowledge & developing good practice

The knowledge and good practice developed in the New Music: New Audiences project has been created by the 31 ensembles working together in Working Communities of 4-6 ensembles.

A Working Community was a creative unit, in which the ensembles worked together on exploring a concert theme – for instance how to use the internet for live concerts, how to use speaker presentations at concerts – or how to give concerts for children.

The direct cooperation meant that the ensembles exchanged practical experiences, acted as each other's sparring partners and cooperated on the preparation of concerts. Through the project the ensembles participated in workshops together and even helped each other evaluate the concerts.

The working communities worked across borders as they dealt with challenges that are general to music environments across Europe.

Under each theme you will find concert evaluations, reports, lists of recommendations and related research.
