How music and audience meet

How do we do concerts where we don’t just play music for the audience, but MEET the audience – and they meet us? Concerts where the audience has fun, people are relaxed and have a good time in the company of good music – and good musicians.

Traditional classical concerts can be stiff and formal, and this scares a lot of people away. So how do we do concerts that has a “social” quality?

This is the topic of the NewAud "Social workshops", where six NewAud ensembles meet to exchange ideas and inspiration, and to help each other develop strategies.

At this year's first workshop we had great discussions about childrens concerts, about nursing your faitfull audience, how to seat an audience around musicians and much else. At this June workshop we will pursue the theme and formulate our conclusions.

See you for a social gettogether in Helsinki.
