How music and audience meet

How do we do concerts where we don’t just play music for the audience, but MEET the audience – and they meet us? Concerts where the audience has fun, are relaxed and has a good time in the company of good music – and a good music ensemble.

Traditional classical concerts can be stiff and formal, and this scares a lot of people away. So how do we do concerts that has a “social” quality?

This is the topic of this workshop, where six NewAud ensembles meet to exchange ideas and inspiration, and to help each other develop strategies. In 2013 NewAud did workshops under the same theme, and had great discussions about sweather-concerts, drinking and eating with the audience, how to communicate in eye level with your audience and many other things.

We look forward to pursue the theme in this new group consisting of the Crash Ensemble, Kwartludium, Oslo Sinfonietta, Lunapark, the Hebrides ensemble and the Psappha Ensemble.
