What images do you get when you hear this music?

That was the question the Cantus Ensemble asked a number of students at the Academy of Fine Arts, Animated Filming and New Media Department.

"And could you please make a video of your images?" – that was the next question. The result was a number of video illustrations – of no less than 5 works by Latvian, Hungarian, British and Slovak composers.

The Cantus ensemble presented the videos at this concert where video performance and live music melted together. Some works were even presented as a criss-cross, with one movement performed live, the next movement played only as video recording etc.

For this concert the Cantus ensemble took many new initiatives integrating multimedia as part of live performances. The programme booklet was replaced with video recordings of the composers telling about their works – and the whole concert is available online!
