Music, sounds and food

Carola Bauckholt is an unusual composer.

She doesn’t just write music, she explores the borderland between music, theatre and everyday noises. In fact her pieces include sounds like “a potato being dropped on the floor”, “organ pipes”(without the organ) and other not so ordinary inventions.

It may sound pensive, but actually Bauckholt’s works are very down to earth. And so was this concert The Cikada Ensembles gave this September exclusively with works by Carola Bauckholt.

Performing five Bauckholt works, including three commissions, the concert had a focus on creating a pleasant atmosphere and being an informal meeting between the Norwegian audience and this charming composer.

The concert included free food and drinks for the audience. Potatoes, perhaps?
